P92 / X10CrWMoVNb9-2
Data verifiedP92 takes the P91 recipe and swaps part of the molybdenum for 1.5–2% tungsten plus a boron addition, buying roughly 30% more creep strength again. It is the standard material for the hottest main-steam lines in 600 °C-class ultra-supercritical boilers.

Applications & Processing
Applications: USC main steam and hot reheat pipework, headers, superheater outlet tubing, the highest-temperature pressure parts in new coal and CCGT plant.
Processing: Same code discipline as P91 — matching W-bearing consumables, controlled preheat and full PWHT with hardness records. Not a stock-and-go grade; it is bought against project specifications.
FAQ
- P92 vs P91 — when is P92 worth it?
- Above about 600 °C metal temperature, or where wall thickness on large-bore steam lines must come down further. Below that, P91 is cheaper and more widely stocked.
