About Steel.Wiki

Steel.Wiki is an open knowledge base for steel grades: data sheets, chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treatment practice and cross-standard equivalents across the DIN/EN, AISI/SAE, JIS and GB systems. Its motto is the one on the logo — Learn · Explore · Share.

How the data is compiled

Grade data is compiled from published standard ranges (EN, DIN, ASTM, SAE, JIS, GB), mill data sheets and established handbooks. Every grade page names its source and last-updated date. Pages flagged "Data under review" are still being cross-checked and should be treated with extra care.

Editorial policy

Numerical values come from the database, never from free-text generation. Equivalent grades are marked "close" or "near" where composition windows merely overlap. Nothing on this site replaces the governing standard or a mill certificate: for certified designs, the design authority decides.

Corrections

Found an error? Email rocky@nasteel.com.cn with the grade and the value in question — corrections are applied to the database and the page updates immediately.

Sponsorship

Steel.Wiki is sponsored by Shenzhen NewAsia Special Steel Co., Ltd. (Nasteel), a special-steel stockholder and exporter based in Shenzhen, China. Sponsorship is disclosed on every grade page; editorial content is compiled from public sources and is not written by the sales team.
