NM450

Data under review

NM450 sits between NM400 and NM500 in the GB/T 24186 family: a 450 HBW class plate for severe sliding abrasion that still keeps usable bendability, where NM500 would already demand generous forming radii.

Applications & Processing

Applications: Excavator and loader buckets, crusher and shredder liners, dump bodies in hard-rock service, wear strips.

Processing: Bend with radii ≥3–4× thickness; preheat 100–150 °C for thick-plate welding; waterjet or plasma cutting preferred over flame for edge quality.

FAQ

When is NM450 the right pick over NM500?
When the part must be formed or sees moderate impact on top of abrasion: NM450 keeps most of NM500’s wear life with noticeably better cracking resistance in bends and welds.
