2304 Duplex

Data verified

2304 is a lean duplex grade with corrosion resistance comparable to 316L and roughly double its yield strength, without the molybdenum cost of 2205. It is used for tanks, structural parts and bridges in mildly aggressive environments.

Applications & Processing

Applications: Storage and transport tanks, bridge components, water gates, desalination equipment, structural profiles.

Processing: Standard duplex welding practice with matching or over-alloyed fillers; not recommended above about 250–300 °C in pressure service due to 475 °C embrittlement of the ferrite phase.
