2101 Duplex
Data verified2101 is a lean duplex stainless in which manganese and nitrogen replace most of the nickel, giving roughly twice the yield strength of 304 at a stable, lower price. Corrosion resistance is comparable to 316L in many mild environments, with far better stress-corrosion resistance.

Applications & Processing
Applications: Storage tanks, structural sections, bridges, water treatment, pulp and paper, handrails.
Processing: Weldable with duplex fillers and controlled heat input; high strength raises forming forces and springback; pickling after welding restores corrosion performance.
FAQ
- What does lean duplex mean?
- A duplex grade with low nickel and molybdenum (nickel replaced by manganese and nitrogen). It cuts cost and price volatility while keeping duplex strength and stress-corrosion resistance.
