DH36

Data verified

DH36 is the −20 °C impact version of the 355 MPa hull grade, specified for vessels trading in cold waters and for exposed structure where AH36 toughness is insufficient. Chemistry is the same family as AH36; the difference is the toughness guarantee and its verification.

Applications & Processing

Applications: Hull structure for cold-region trades, ice-class vessels (with class notation), offshore units.

Processing: As AH36; check the impact temperature on the class certificate, not the grade name alone.

FAQ

AH36, DH36, EH36 — what changes?
Strength is identical (355 MPa, 490–630 MPa). Only the impact-test temperature steps down: A = 0 °C, D = −20 °C, E = −40 °C.
