Corten B

Data under review

Corten B is the structural weathering grade, normally supplied to ASTM A588 chemistry: lower phosphorus than Corten A, with vanadium for strength in thicker welded construction. It is the bridge and heavy-structure member of the weathering family.

Applications & Processing

Applications: Bridges, transmission towers, rail wagons, heavy outdoor structures.

Processing: Weldable with standard HSLA practice using weathering-matched filler; the usual choice over Corten A above ~10 mm and for primary structure.
