A387 Gr.5
Data verifiedASTM A387 Grade 5 is the 5Cr-0.5Mo pressure-vessel plate for the hottest, most corrosive refinery duties, where its chromium content resists sulfidation and hot hydrogen attack that would destroy lower-alloy plate. It is the plate counterpart of P5 pipe.

Applications & Processing
Applications: Hydrocracker and hydrotreater hot separators, high-temperature refinery vessels, hot hydrogen service within Nelson-curve limits, furnace tubes supports.
Processing: Weld with 5Cr-0.5Mo consumables, preheat 200–300 °C by thickness and PWHT; air-hardening chemistry means as-welded joints are never left un-tempered in code service.
