316Ti

Data verified

316Ti is the titanium-stabilised version of 316, long standardised in European practice as 1.4571. The titanium binds carbon so welds resist intergranular corrosion, and it retains strength better than 316L in the 400–800 °C range.

Applications & Processing

Applications: Chemical plant, exhaust systems, heat exchangers, pressure vessels for elevated-temperature service, flue-gas equipment.

Processing: Welds like 316; titanium nitride inclusions can affect mirror polishing, so 316L is preferred for high-polish pharmaceutical work.
