Applications & Processing

Applications: PVC pipe and profile molds, molds for corrosive plastics, food and packaging tooling, cavity plates in humid plants.

Processing: Polishability is good but a step below ESR 1.2083; the prehardened delivery avoids hardening distortion on large corrosive-duty molds.

FAQ

1.2316 or 1.2083 for a PVC mold?
1.2083 hardens to ~50 HRC for cavity wear and mirror polish; 1.2316 comes prehardened (~300 HB), resists corrosion better and suits large molds and plates where maximum cavity hardness is not needed.
