S355K2 vs S355J0

These two grades are listed as equivalents of each other: their chemistry windows overlap and they serve the same applications. They are not always identical — check the differences below before substituting, especially in certified designs.

S355K2

Structural & HSLA Steel

S355K2 is the high-toughness quality of S355 to EN 10025-2. Where S355J2 guarantees 27 J at −20 °C, K2 raises the bar to 40 J at −20 °C, which designers use for fracture-sensitive, dynamically loaded or thick welded structures.

S355J0

Structural & HSLA Steel

S355J0 sits between S355JR and the −20 °C grade S355J2 in the EN 10025-2 family, with a 0 °C impact guarantee. It is widely used for outdoor and transport structures in temperate-to-cold service.
