60 vs C60
These two grades are listed as equivalents of each other: their chemistry windows overlap and they serve the same applications. They are not always identical — check the differences below before substituting, especially in certified designs.
60
Carbon Steel
60 is the highest-carbon GB/T 699 machinery grade in common trade (AISI 1060 class), used where plain-carbon spring and wear performance is enough.
Standards: DIN 1.0601 (C60) · AISI 1060 · JIS S58C (near) · GB 60 (GB/T 699)
C60
Carbon Steel
C60 is the EN quality carbon steel (1.0601) equivalent to AISI 1060, specified on European drawings for springs, shafts and wear parts. It is normally ordered to EN 10083-2 delivery conditions with guaranteed property bands.
Standards: DIN 1.0601 (C60) · AISI 1060 · JIS S58C (near) · GB 60
